Born in Osaka in 1964. She became a freelance editor and writer after working for a publishing company. She loves interviewing people who create things, including novelists. She is a book-addict and a member of a unit "book pick orchestra".
In 2005 when covering a story on designers in Tokyo as a special correspondent of WWD NY, he saw some ANREALAGE works at IFF, felt they were works of genius, and introduced the brand on WWD NY. Seeing this article, GEN ART in NY, one of the gateways to success for new designers, requested Mr. Morinaga to join its exhibition. He thus applied for the competition and won the Avant Garde Award. Although he and Mr. Morinaga have been in touch via email since then, this is the first time in years that Mr. Hirano has had the opportunity to interview him.
Became an independent curator in 2008 after holding such positions as the curator of photography at Kobe Fashion Museum, and Chief Curator-cum-PR at House of Shiseido.
Since then, she has been producing various exhibitions and events, putting together collections at the request of companies, acting as an agent for artists, and so on. Met Mr. Amano at the exhibition “Eve Yoshiyuki Hishinuma + Yoshitaka Amano” in the Paris Opera in 2009 and held the same exhibition at Kyoto Kiyomizudera Temple in the following year. She is acting as the curator of Mr. Amano’s exhibition for this collaboration.
